Critical Conversations on Identity & Gender (Plenary Session 3)
This final plenary session will feature a practical testimonial, presentations on current research on gender identity, and wrap-up on approaching the topic with theological, medical, and legal balance.
Duncan and Woning's presentation is entitled "Changed: The Power of Exposing the Beliefs Underlying Gender Dysphoria."
Bock's presentation is entitled "Conference Summary: Final Thoughts."
Dr. Bock has earned recognition as a Humboldt Scholar (Tübingen University in Germany), is the author or editor of over 45 books, including well-regarded commentaries on Luke and Acts and studies of the historical Jesus, and works in cultural engagement as host of the seminary’s Table Podcast. He was president of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) from 2000–2001, has served as a consulting editor for Christianity Today, and serves on the boards of Wheaton College, Chosen People Ministries, the Hope Center, Christians in Public Service, and the Institute for Global Engagement. His articles appear in leading publications, and he often is an expert for the media on NT issues. Dr. Bock has been a New York Times best-selling author in nonfiction; serves as a staff consultant for Bent Tree Fellowship Church in Carrollton, TX; and is elder emeritus at Trinity Fellowship Church in Dallas. When traveling overseas, he will tune into the current game involving his favorite teams from Houston—live—even in the wee hours of the morning. Married for 49 years to Sally, he is a proud father of two daughters and a son and is also a grandfather of five.
Elizabeth Woning is the co-founder of Changed Movement, an international grass-roots network that highlights the stories of men and women whose journeys with Jesus drew them out of LGBTQ. She’s a consultant to pastors and Christian leaders who are trying to establish connections with the LGBTQ community and serve people in churches who struggle with sexual identity issues. Elizabeth is married to her husband, Doug, and is a pastor at Bethel Church in Redding, California. She holds a Master’s Degree in Theology. KathyGrace was born female then lived as a man for 11 years of her life. She came out of that lifestyle 29 years ago and has reclaimed her true gender. Her story is one of freedom and redemption through her relationship with Jesus. She is does transgender ministry with the Changed Movement from Redding CA. In her spare time, you will find her riding her bicycle, gardening or hanging out with friends.
