Coaches
Robert Rowley, DMin
With over four decades of ministry experience, Bob Rowley brings a deep well of wisdom in church leadership, revitalization, and pastoral development. A two-time graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM 1982; DMin 2005), Bob has faithfully served as an adjunct professor at DTS for more than twenty years. He spent two decades planting and pastoring Grace Bible Church in Laredo, Texas, before leading as the District Superintendent for the Texas-Oklahoma District of the Evangelical Free Church of America for another twenty years. Together with Dr. Aubrey Malphurs, Bob co-created and co-led a Doctor of Ministry cohort focused on church health and multiplication, investing in the next generation of church leaders. His ministry has centered on strengthening pastors, elder boards, and church planters across various contexts. Bob and his wife, JoAnn, live in New Braunfels, Texas, and enjoy time with their three married children and seven grandchildren.
Andrew Yates, EdD
Andrew Yates is an experienced leader in higher education and pastoral ministry. Having received an EdD at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University, his eclectic education has enabled him to serve ministry leaders in diverse and dynamic environments. At DTS, Andrew serves as the Advisor to Men and facilitates one-on-one discipleship worldwide. His background includes pastoral ministry in the largest and smallest American churches, strategic leadership development in multiple countries, as well as a long-term one-on-one discipleship ministry. Andrew has presented at numerous academic conferences and is affiliated with the Society of Professors in Christian Ministry. He is dedicated to advocating for and supporting future church leaders. Andrew has been married to Kelli for fifteen years. She works as an inventor and engineer at Bell Helicopter, supporting their V-22 program. They have two children, Hannah (10) and John (8), who are increasingly a blessing.
Bryan Thiessen, DMin
Bryan Thiessen has twenty years of ministry experience. In 2017 he and his wife planted Pathway Church (a non-denominational church) in Yukon, Oklahoma, where they continue to serve today. They have been married for twenty years and have three young children. Bryan earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2024. In addition to his pastoral ministry, he is also the chaplain for the Yukon Fire Department and the Team Chaplain for the Oklahoma City Comets (Triple–A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers professional baseball team). He serves as a fellow at The Hendricks Center at DTS.
Sheryl Lackey Reeves, MACE
Sheryl Lackey Reeves serves as the Greater Austin Area Coordinator for Dallas Theological Seminary. She brings a rich background in broadcast media, inner-city ministry, and pastoral leadership. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Texas State University and a master’s degree in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary. Passionate about equipping church leaders, Sheryl actively serves in her local church, using her gifts of teaching and leadership to inspire spiritual growth and community impact. She is married to Mark Reeves, and they are enjoying their move back to Texas after eight years in New England.
Heather Holmes, MACE
Heather Holmes serves as the Assistant Director of Spiritual Formation for Extension Students at DTS and volunteers as the Chaplain of the Valor Parent Association in Highlands Ranch, CO. She holds a Master of Arts in Christian Education from DTS with an emphasis on Ministry with Women and is passionate about shepherding the hearts of ministry leaders. Some of Heather’s ministry and professional experiences include serving on the children’s staff at Irving Bible Church and the staff of Young Life, leading Bible study and Moms in Prayer, developing Spiritual formation curriculum and teams, and working with residential real estate clients in Northern VA. The common theme amongst these experiences is Heather’s passion for jumping into the dumpsters of life, seeing inherent value in the devalued and discarded. Whether that’s 1-on-1 conversations about the painful parts of life or helping clients see potential in a house, Heather values the transformational process of calling forth beauty from brokenness, made possible by God’s grace through Jesus Christ. Heather currently resides in Highlands Ranch, CO, with her husband of 21 years, Jeremy, their teenage daughter, Betsy, and a cuddly labradoodle, Denver.
Steve McCoy, DMin
Steve McCoy graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1979 with his ThM and earned his DMin from Phoenix Seminary in 2002. With over 40 years of experience in church ministry, he has pastored four congregations and served as an Intentional Interim Pastor for five churches. Now “retired,” Dr. McCoy continues to invest in ministry by coaching Interim Pastors, discipling students, and regularly teaching a class at his church. He and his wife have been married for 49 years and are blessed with four children and five grandchildren.
