Women Teaching Truth

DTS's Educational Ministries and Leadership Department is excited to sponsor GodTalks: Women Teaching Truth. Through classes at DTS, women learn how to teach God's truth and engage their audience effectively. GodTalks provides the next level of exposure and experience for women wanting to hone their skills. Please join us as we celebrate, encourage, and evaluate our speakers! We hope you are inspired by their messages or find a gifted Bible speaker for your next women's event.

Parking is available off Apple Street next to the Bailey Student Center or across Live Oak Street in the commuter lot. The event will be in the Campbell Academic Center (#2 on the campus map).

Presenters

Leah Holder Green

Hope Lives & Hope Gives (1 Peter 1:3-6)

Leah has been teaching God’s Word since she was seventeen years old. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and later earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law. After practicing law for a couple of years, she entered full-time ministry as a Bible study curriculum developer and Bible teacher. Leah is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Christian Education at Dallas Theological Seminary. She is married to the love of her life, Clarence “Champ” Green, and they have two beautiful daughters— Caylen Joy, who is two, and Lena Hope, who is with the Lord.

Cathy Johnson

Sit and Let Sit (Luke 10:38-42)

Cathy was born in India and raised in Northern California. She has a Master of Science in Psychological Counseling and is currently in her final semester of the Master of Biblical and Theological Studies program at Dallas Theological Seminary. Her husband of five years, Avinash, is also a DTS student in the ThM program. They both share a love for theology, music, and adventure.

Beca Lima

We Can Call Because He Cares (Mark 4:35-41)

Beca was born and raised in southern Brazil. She received her BA in linguistics and translation and is currently earning a Master of Arts in Christian Education at Dallas Theological Seminary. She also serves as a fellow on the Spiritual Formation staff here at DTS. Beca loves to teach God’s Word to women and has a heart for discipleship, small groups, and helping women grow spiritually.

Jennifer McCann

Find Your Person and Connect (Luke 1:39-45)

Jennifer’s passion is to encourage and equip women as they walk in their purpose. She has led Bible studies, spoken at women's events, and published her writing. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts Degree in Christian Education at Dallas Theological Seminary, focusing on women and family. Her husband of over twenty years, Ken, is also a DTS student. They live in Dallas with their three children.

Sarah Rooker

Cling to God's Comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

Sarah believed in Jesus at age five, but when she was in her early twenties, Jesus commandeered her heart. Since then, she delights to follow Him as a registered nurse. From tending to kiddos with cardiac defects to now caring for mothers with unplanned pregnancies at a pregnancy resource clinic, Sarah cares about the brokenhearted. She’s traveled to over twenty-one countries and worked for foster care and orphan-care nonprofits. After a move from her beloved home of Tennessee to Texas, Sarah is finishing a Master of Arts in Christian Education at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Rachel Smith

Desperate Times Call for Divine Measures (Mark 5:21-23)

Rachel is pursuing a Master of Arts in Christian Education at Dallas Theological Seminary. She is a recovering high school math teacher, curriculum writer, and principal who is passionate about thought-provoking curricula, specifically within the church. Rachel lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with her husband, Justin, and their three children.
